WO/MAN

Proud of the collaboration with MO/MAN!
From now on, some paintings are on display and for sale in this concept store. In this store in Katwijk aan Zee, various cultures come together. Caroline has shaped the collaboration with Milou in such a way that the paintings align with her vision and the cultures represented in the store.

WO/MAN

Equal, not simular

WO/MAN is founded on a vision. The concept represents a world in which people are equal, but not identical: equal, not similar.

We are all human, and everyone is different and unique. We can strongly disagree, and we don’t have to see eye to eye. But for WO/MAN, people are fundamentally equal. We are free to be who we are—no characteristic, such as sex, gender, sexual orientation, age, income, appearance, background, culture, or medical status, changes that in any way.

WO/MAN embraces an inclusive worldview, where everyone matters, opportunities are accessible to all, and differences are valued.

Starlet

The word “starlet” refers to a young or emerging actress, particularly in the film industry, who is not yet fully famous but is considered promising. It is often used to describe a young woman who is on the verge of becoming a bigger star, especially in Hollywood or Bollywood. A starlet often has great ambition and is in the early stages of her career.

In this painting, you see a young Indian woman, powerful and ambitious. Perhaps she dreams of a career as a Bollywood actress. Her clothing is colorful and vibrant; she is rich in spirit, yet serious. The fabrics she wears are rich in color and abundant, dancing around her. Thick lines of paint and paint splashes are visible. The lines merge into each other and are all around her.

In India, wearing jewelry is seen as an essential part of female identity. It is often associated with beauty, wealth, and status. The jewelry worn by the woman in the painting is made of copper leaf, gold-colored, and red paint.

The painting measures 60 cm by 80 cm.

Beyond

This painting depicts a door in Moroccan style. “When one door closes, another door opens.” “Dare to knock, what’s ‘Beyond’?” The painting features cool colors, with a wooden door as the central element. The Moroccan door is not just a functional object, but also a work of art, rich in symbolism, culture, and history. It carries a deeper meaning that reflects the values of protection, hospitality, and beauty in Moroccan society.

In the painting, you can see paint splatters and thick lines of paint (around the door).

The painting measures 60 cm by 80 cm.

Symbolic Essence

This painting translates the core values of the concept store into abstract form. In this painting, the symbols chosen by Milou Petitjean (owner of the concept store) take center stage. It is not a literal representation of the logo, but an interpretation of the underlying values.

The painting incorporates sand, and you can see details of copper leaf, thick lines of paint, and a touch of metallic spray paint.

This painting measures 40 cm by 50 cm.
